Once a child is accepted, the online enrollment packet arrives through FACTS with the forms the State of Michigan requires. Bring anything that needs a signature to the preschool office on the second floor.

The enrollment packet (Child Information Record, Health Appraisal Form, Child Placement Contract and the Parent Handbook agreement form) is provided online through FACTS once a child is accepted.

Day to day

The rules that keep the building calm.

The short version of the policies every family agrees to. The Parent Handbook and Child Placement Contract have the full wording.

Drop-off and pick-up

  • Sign your child in every morning and out every afternoon.
  • Only people authorized in FACTS and on the Child Information Record may pick up. A state-issued ID or passport is the only accepted proof of identity. Siblings under 18 may not sign children out.
  • Keep a consistent drop-off and pick-up time. Children are not admitted after 10:00 AM and may attend up to nine consecutive hours.
  • Instruction ends at 3:00 PM. After care runs until pick-up: gym or playground time, then free play in the combined classroom.
  • The school closes at 6:00 PM. Pick-up after 6:00 PM is billed at $1 per minute.

When to keep your child home

  • Children with a fever, rash or diarrhea cannot attend.
  • A child with a suspected communicable disease stays home until it is no longer contagious.
  • If a child becomes ill at school, a parent is contacted and must arrange immediate pick-up.
  • To report an absence, call 248-668-7035 and leave a message on or before the day.

Meals and snacks

  • The school provides a morning and an afternoon snack.
  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided by families. Staff help open containers and reheat food.
  • A hot lunch program is available for an extra charge through MyHotLunch.com.
  • Special dietary needs should be discussed with the director.

Nap and rest

  • Nap time is 12:00 to 2:30 PM. In Pre-K and Young Fives the nap is optional, with quiet time from 12:00 to 12:30 PM.
  • The school provides the cot. Send a waterproof crib sheet to cover it, a travel-size pillow and a blanket.
  • Everything must fit in a standard tote bag, 12 inches wide, 7 inches deep and 17 inches high.

Schedule changes and withdrawal

  • Schedules can change with two weeks’ written notice, as long as space is available.
  • Withdrawal requires two weeks’ written notice; unused prepaid tuition is reimbursed.
  • Vacation credit: up to two weeks each term (Fall, Spring and Summer), with two weeks’ notice.

Weather and closures

  • The school closes for inclement weather as needed, and for the holidays listed on the calendar.
  • No credit is given for sick days, snow days or partial-week absences.

Licensing and safety

  • The program and facilities are licensed by the State of Michigan.
  • The licensing notebook, with inspection reports and any corrective action plans, is available for review in the director’s office during business hours.
  • Inspection reports are also published at michigan.gov/childcare.

A protected parent resources area is planned for a future update to this site.
